Field Guide

With the clubs to come an artistic field guide will be created from the public’s wants and needs and a cross-section of Berlin’s artists. 14 artists, many meeting for the first time, will collaborate and conceive the 2022 Berlin events to invite the public to come together in the aftermath of the pandemic and explore as a community how our needs have changed as a result of these dramatic experiences, and how we can help each other meet them. How have our neighbours fared during this crisis, and what conditions and habitat do we need so that we can all thrive again? Field guides can help with complex orientation. Can an artistic field guide of our surroundings be created by listening to this radically new environment? What is missing and what can be reshaped just through the sheer force of being together? Can this evening not only affect what happens in the present, but send ripples into our future?

Social Muscle Club combines intimate performances, live music, and cabaret with a social game in a big party atmosphere. Need a hug? Maybe tax return support? Relationship advice or a magic mushroom smoothie while floating down a river with a friend? The aim of the game is to share something you need and something you have to give and the resulting matches are celebrated with cheering, dancing and debauchery!

Mit den kommenden Clubs wird aus den Wünschen und Bedürfnissen des Publikums und einem Querschnitt der Berliner Künstler*innen ein künstlerischer Feldführer entstehen. 14 Künstler*innen, von denen sich viele zum ersten Mal treffen, werden zusammenarbeiten und die Berliner Veranstaltungen 2022 konzipieren, um das Publikum einzuladen, nach der Pandemie zusammenzukommen und als Gemeinschaft zu erforschen, wie sich unsere Bedürfnisse durch diese einschneidenden Erfahrungen verändert haben und wie wir uns gegenseitig helfen können, sie zu erfüllen. Wie ist es unseren Nachbar*innen in dieser Krise ergangen, und welche Bedingungen und Lebensräume brauchen wir, damit wir alle wieder gedeihen können? Feldführer können bei der komplexen Orientierung helfen. Kann ein künstlerischer Feldführer unserer Umgebung entstehen, indem wir auf diese radikal neue Umgebung hören? Was fehlt und was kann allein durch die schiere Kraft des Zusammenseins umgestaltet werden? Kann dieser Abend nicht nur das Geschehen in der Gegenwart beeinflussen, sondern auch Wellen in unsere Zukunft senden?

Der Social Muscle Club verbindet intime Performances, Live-Musik und Kabarett mit einem sozialen Spiel in einer großen Party-Atmosphäre. Brauchst du eine Umarmung? Vielleicht Unterstützung bei der Steuererklärung? Beziehungsratschläge oder einen Magic Mushroom-Smoothie, während du mit einem Freund einen Fluss hinunterfährst? Das Ziel des Spiels ist es, etwas zu teilen, das man braucht, und etwas zu geben, das man zu geben hat, und die daraus resultierenden Spiele werden mit Jubel, Tanz und Ausschweifungen gefeiert!
